Ben Trnka and Boz Bostrom are accounting and finance professors at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. Both Ben and Boz graduated from Saint John’s and spent time in the Big 4 accounting firms before becoming professors.

Ben and Boz have a passion for preparing students for the real world. The Excel Tutorials were created in response to consistent comments from CPA’s that excel skills are a must-have. The Narrated PowerPoints were created as an acknowledgement that students learn at different speeds and in different ways – students can review these PowerPoints as many times as they need in the comfort of their dorms and apartments. The Podcasts were created in recognition that students are accessing information differently than ever before.

This project was made possible through a generous grant from the PwC INQquires program. PwC initiated the INQuires program in the Spring of 2007 to assist faculty and PhD students seeking to increase the knowledge base that contributes to the practice of auditing and tax. In 2010, PwC expanded the program to also support diversity initiatives and curriculum development.

Ben and Boz are very grateful for the work of Caitlin Harvey, who was responsible for development and design of the website. Caitlin graduated from Saint Ben’s in May of 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
